Hi, my name’s Eleanor, and I’ll be your host(ess) for the evening.
I’ve been blogging for years, on and off, on topics great and small. Mostly small, really. I’d never completely moved out of the realm of personal, anecdotal blogging – although I’ve always been interested in the broader world of social media – until late last year when I started writing what rapidly became a fairly successful World of Warcraft blog.
(For those who are interested, I blog as Siha at Banana Shoulders. I also keep a LiveJournal, but I find that LJ largely promotes posts aimed specifically at one’s friends, and it doesn’t really work - at least not for me - as a platform for broadcasting to the wider world.)
In the Real World™ I’m a peripatetic freelance information architect and interface designer (and occasional web designer), although I’m currently not taking on work for health reasons. And, as I find myself with fertile webspace lying fallow and enough time on my hands to make use of it, here I am; ready to talk about all the things that interest me, and perhaps they’ll interest other people too.
